The Ministry of Tourism, Trade & Consumer Affairs of the Basque Government leads the consolidation of the Basque Country as a tourist destination and defines the strategy for the region for the next years. According to this strategy, Gastronomy and wine tourism are established as one of the main products to be boosted. Although high class basque gastronomy and Rioja Alavesa wines are more and more well-known all around the world, it is important to mention some other aspects that make the offer complete, such as txakoli wines, cider houses, pintxos, cheese makers and some gastronomy experiences ideal for food and wine lovers.
