Associazione Volontaria Tra Viticoltori di Refosco di Faedis
Since Roman times, Faedis and viticulture have been an indissoluble union. Centuries of peasant knowledge produced excellent wines, among which the Refosco di Faedis stands out, the indigenous grape variety that takes unique flavors and tastes from this land. The oldest vineyard in Friuli, planted at the end of the 19th century and in production since then, testifies to the importance of wine production in this area. A territory, located north east of Udine, where the plain meets the mountains. Nature is the undisputed mistress: fields, vineyards, meadows and woods cover almost 80% of the territory, mostly mountainous and hilly, crossed by kilometers of paths, once ways of communication between the various towns and villages and ideal place for beautiful excursions today. Medieval castles and churches are further attractions of a small territory, which from the top of its mountains offers one of the most astonishing sights in all of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
