The Wine Tourism Conference, Workshop & Fam Trip brings together European wine experience providers and carefully screened, high-quality tour operators and travel agents at a unique event devoted to achieving results and growing international wine tourism in Europe and usually over a glass of fine wine or two! The Wine Tourism Workshop takes place in a private environment perfect for pre-scheduled one-to-one business meetings between wine experience providers (wineries, hotels, restaurants, cultural venues and so on) and travel professionals selected for their quality and credentials. In addition to targeted appointments, lunches, refreshment breaks and evening activities and receptions offer further valuable networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere.
Tour Operators and Travel Agents will use the Workshop to easily source new European wine experience programmes and providers for their portfolios, and to strengthen established business relationships – at one event in one location. They will appreciate how the Workshop will cut down the amount of time and travel required to manage their business relationships.Wine Pleasures Workshops are renowned for their organisation and sophistication – and most importantly, for the quality of provider / agent relationships they facilitate.
The Umbria Workshop and Fam Trip promises to be every bit as exciting as previous Fam Trips. Post Workshop Tour 1 Marchè Places available
Between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountains is one of the most enchanting and unspoilt parts of Italy – Le Marche. Renaissance art and architecture will take your breath away while keen walkers will have an endless array of adventures ahead of them. Few ingredients assembled with the minimum of fuss is the approach to food here with many restaurants simply trying to make things just like Nonna (Grandma) used to do. You can’t miss out on the spaghetti allo scoglio ´on the rocks´ dressed with seafood and matched beautifully with a glass of the local green-tinged dry white wine – Verdicchio. If white is not your thing, there is an abundance of sparkling and reds made in the region ranging from Sangiovese to match your ravioli or perhaps a Lacrima (native of Le Marche) to compliment your vincisgrassi.
Post Workshop Tour 2 Umbria Full
Get caught up in Umbria´s romance as you meander through medieval hill towns in amongst Italy’s ´green heart´. Being the country’s only region both landlocked and bordering no other countries, this heavenly pocket retains its centuries old traditions. Mamma has her apron on making her strangozzi pasta by hand while Papa is selling his highly sought after porchetta panino (pork sandwich) at the Saturday market. Wine is a much part of the culture as the language is, with the great wines of Montefalco Sagrantino and Torgiano Rosso Riserva being amongst the greatest of the region.
Whether you prefer to mountain-bike through the lush sunflower glazed valleys or enjoy a glass of Oriveto’s golden wines, this gastronomic and wine-lovers haven will have time standing still for you.
Post Workshop Tour 3 Tuscany Full
Michelangelo, Donatello and da Vinci are just a few of the masters hailing from Toscana (Tuscany). Steeped in architectural history this cultural capital of Italy has everything from the rolling hillsides saturated with wildflowers to some of Italy’s best culinary and wine delights. You will be spoilt for choice with six World Heritage Tuscan sites to visit in amongst the copious amounts of bread and extra virgin olive oil dominating every meal. Most famously known in the wine world for their Chianti, make sure you explore a few of Tuscany’s nooks and crannies to uncover some real hidden gems.
