IWINETC 2025 will be held in the Mikulov Castle – Mikulov – South Moravia.
Getting to Mikulov from Vienna Airport
If you arriving on Tuesday 25 March then there will be shuttles running throughout the day until 17.00 from Vienna Airport to Mikulov with an approx journey time of just over an hour.
Train
Take the CAT (City Airport Train) from Vienna Airport to Wien Floridsdorf station. This train departs every 30 minutes and the journey takes about 16 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the airport train station.
Vienna CAT train From Wien Floridsdorf station, take a train to Břeclav. Trains depart frequently throughout the day and the journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. You can search for train schedules and purchase tickets online on the website of ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) (https://www.oebb.at/en/)At Břeclav, change trains to a local train going to Mikulov nádraží (Mikulov station). Trains depart about once an hour and the journey takes around 30 minutes. You can buy tickets for this journey onboard the train from Břeclav.
Since Mikulov is a relatively small town, getting from the train station (Mikulov nádraží) to the village center is quite easy. Here are your options:
- Walking: This is the most straightforward option if you have manageable luggage and enjoy a leisurely stroll. The town center is only about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station. Head south on Hlavní třída, the main street, and you’ll find yourself in the heart of Mikulov.
- Taxi: Taxis are readily available at the train station rank. This is a convenient option if you have heavy luggage or limited mobility. You can hail a taxi upon arrival or ask station personnel for assistance.
Total travel time: Approximately 2.5 – 3 hours
Getting to Mikulov from Prague Airport
Here’s how to get from Prague Airport (PRG) to Mikulov, South Moravia by public transport:
1. Take the Airport Express bus to Prague Main Train Station (Hlavní nádraží).
- The Airport Express buses are easily recognizable and depart frequently (roughly every 15-30 minutes) from outside the airport terminals.
- The journey to the Main Train Station takes about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.
- Tickets can be purchased online beforehand or directly from the bus driver.
2. Transfer to a train for Mikulov at Prague Main Train Station.
- Trains to Mikulov depart several times a day from Prague Main Train Station.
- Journey time by train is around 4 to 4.5 hours with one change typically required at Břeclav.
- You can search for train schedules and purchase tickets online on the Czech Railways website (https://www.cd.cz/en/) or at the station ticket counters.
Here’s a breakdown of the journey:
- Airport Express Bus (PRG Airport – Prague Main Train Station): 30-45 minutes
- Train (Prague Main Train Station – Mikulov): 4-4.5 hours (with change at Břeclav)
Total travel time: Approximately 4.5 – 5 hours
