Associazione Volontaria Tra Viticoltori di Refosco di Faedis

Since Roman times, Faedis and viticulture have been an indissoluble union. Centuries of peasant knowledge produced excellent wines, among which the Refosco di Faedis stands out, the indigenous grape variety that takes unique flavors and tastes from this land. The oldest vineyard in Friuli, planted at the end of the 19th century and in production since then, testifies to the importance of wine production in this area. A territory, located north east of Udine, where the plain meets the mountains. Nature is the undisputed mistress: fields, vineyards, meadows and woods cover almost 80% of the territory, mostly mountainous and hilly, crossed by kilometers of paths, once ways of communication between the various towns and villages and ideal place for beautiful excursions today. Medieval castles and churches are further attractions of a small territory, which from the top of its mountains offers one of the most astonishing sights in all of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Hotel Orlando Resort

The Hotel Orlando is set among millenary granites, including strawberry trees and myrtle, hydrangeas and centuries-old oaks. In this hotel, everything speaks and smells of tradition, art and culture and, above all, of a harsh and wild territory. Every detail has been studied in every detail. The materials, the furnishings, the precious and ancient ceramics ... everything is strictly Sardinian. In this majestic landscape, the combination of plaster colours and warm colours typical of the old mountain houses of our Ogliastra stands out.

I Magredi

The Tombacco family has passionately cultivated the land and the vine since 1968. Thanks to the knowledge of traditional Friulian vinegrowing and winemaking, but never neglecting innovation and the environmental protection, our winery is now one of the protagonists of regional winemaking. Quality, innovation, passion, respect of our history and of our land, openness to the future: these are the values characterising our philosophy and our wines. For the Tombacco family the land is not something you can fully own: you can just take excellent care of it and keep it, to hand it down to future generations. “A broad stony spot, polished by the wind and the water”, the magredi area represents one of the last examples of steppe landscape: meagre, arid, stony… This is where our vineyards have their roots, resulting in wines particularly fresh and elegant.
