12.03.2020: New Dates for IWINETC 2020 will be 27 & 28 October
The International Wine Tourism Conference & Exhibition (IWINETC) scheduled for 24 & 25 March 2020 had to be postponed due to the effects of the Coronavirus/Covid-19; the new dates for IWINETC 2020 are 27 and 28 October for the 2 day conference and exhibition and 29 October for the Wine Tourism B2B Workshop. “We have taken this decision in close consultation and dialogue with our partner PromoTurismoFVG. “The challenge here was there is only a very tight event window open for the wine and wine and culinary tourism industry before the end of 2020” says Anthony Swift, IWINETC Managing Director.
Registrations already purchased for IWINETC 2020 will remain valid for the new dates. IWINETC understands extenuating circumstances may occur. An email notification concerning the new dates will be sent by Wednesday 18 March latest to all attendees.

In light of the abundant negative feedback received re the PromoTurismoFVG proposed dates for IWINETC 2020 (22 & 23 September), the company in close coordination PromoTurimsoFVG will promptly discuss alternative dates. We will make announcements here as soon as we have new information
15.45 4.03.2020 IWINETC 2020 will not take place 24 & 25 March 2020.
Due to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and the increase in air travel restriction to and from Italy, Lucio Gomiero Legale Rappresentante e Direttore General and on behalf of the PromoTurismoFVG has stated that PromoTurismoFVG are not able to maintain the scheduled dates for IWINETC 2020 and have also stated that in their opinion IWINETC be postponed until September 2020. The IWINETC Management had for weeks made it known that a decision on holding or cancelling IWINETC would only be taken based on the recommendations or instructions of PromoturismoFVG. Only they possess the necessary information and specialist knowledge in order to draw the right conclusions.
New dates for IWINETC 2020 have been fixed for 22 & 23 September.
4.03.20 Current information from the IWINETC Management:
Due to the current spread of the coronavirus in not only Italy but also in the whole of Europe, the organizer expects lower attendee numbers at IWINETC 2020, Friuli Venezia Giulia. Please understand that due to the dynamic situation, we are currently unable to make any statements about concrete attendee numbers. No decision has been taken to cancel the event.
2.03.20 Current information from the IWINETC Management:
IWINETC is currently coordinating with the host region Friuli Venezia Giulia on how to proceed with regard to IWINETC 2020 and COVID-19. It is expected that more detailed information will be available in the evening of 3 March at the earliest. We will make announcements here as soon as we have new information.
